Starting over…again…

First craft show in a decade! Beautiful weekend in Centennial Park, Nashville at the 52nd Tennessee Craft Spring Show!

If you are new here- welcome! If you have been around a while and have been patiently waiting to see what these changes are all about- thanks for sticking around! Either way I am happy you’re here with us!

So I decided today was the day to finally delete all the old website stuff for Memento Vivere Jewelry- my Covid era project where I converted second hand bangles into customized medic alert bracelets. I still love the idea and think there is something there to keep exploring, but as of now it is time to move on and focus on this new venture: Katherine Alexander Fine Jewelry- or KAFJ. It is certainly bittersweet for me. It has taken me this long to accept that its ok to let MVJ go- I learned so much from that experience and it is truly the foundation KAFJ has been built on. But today was the day- it is time to make room for all the new things I am making and get this website up and running in the right was so my family and I can flourish.

Alex and I went to Nashville last weekend for the 52nd Tennessee Craft show- what a weekend! We met so many people (thank you Taylor Swift for introducing countless Swifties to a whole new crowd of artists haha), worked our butts off and had a blast. And I learned so much. It was great having Alex there to watch me interact with customers and give sales advice on the spot- by Sunday I felt like a totally different sales person. I am however still working on my “retail voice”.

As part of coming back from the show and trying to figure out how to keep KAFJ going I realized that I really need to let go of MVJ so that all I have done so far to make KAFJ happen can thrive. That means I need to get the website going so I have a proper online channel and not just rely on Instagram or Etsy. So here I am, starting over…again…I’m not even sure how many times I have done this- it feels like a thousand- but I know each time I start over I take a little bit of all I have done with me and build on it. So here we go! Buckle up and stay tuned for the KAFJ ride! Follow me on instagram for a little jewelry fun and share with your friends!
