first year down

Today is officially one year since I started my new adventure with KAFJ! Hard to believe- but I couldn’t image any other way now! I am so thankful for my husband, the team at Alexander & Lehnert Fine Jewelry and all the friends & family that have supported me and helped me get to this milestone today!

I am so grateful. It has not all been easy, but taking a chance on myself has certainly been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Some days I walk in the morning with Fred (our doggo) and everything is magical. And some days I spill a drink and it makes me feel like I can’t handle doing anything right- but that’s the life of a small business owner right?! I certainly work more hours now than I did before, and very little of it is glamorous, but it is all so rewarding.

OK, enough gushy stuff- lets get to the good stuff: the jewelry!

I will be chaining myself to the bench in all my available hours from now until September 9 getting ready for my first Village Art & Craft Fair. Located right here in Asheville in Biltmore Village, this will be our biggest local show to date! And it has been on my Asheville bucket list since we moved here in 2014. I am a bundle of mixed emotions: elated to have been chosen to participate, excited to see who we will meet at the show, nervous about how big the show is and anxious if what I’m making will be good enough…you know, same ol’ same ol’ in the life of a maker haha. I’m working hard on a collection for Fall/Winter 2023 with some stones I fell in love with at the Tucson Gem Show earlier this year. I cannot wait to debut the new collection at the Fair and show you what I’ve been working on lately.
